WHEN ONE LISTENS and observes, one tends to notice things and learn.
I’m not as good a listener as I could be, but I’ve learned one of the worst things I can do is talk too much.
In my opinion, I tend to talk too much sometimes when I enjoy the person who’s in a conversation with me or when I’m passionate about something.
I think this is because most of the time I am more comfortable as a listener, and less comfortable when I talk.
When the roles are flipped, sometimes I don’t think I have as much of a filter as I should.
I don’t know if my lack of a complete filter is because I’m more comfortable as a listener most of the time, or if it’s just something I can improve with practice.
When I’ve talked too much in the past, I’ve found a little more quietness has served me well.
I’ve always been taught it’s important to listen, but the older I get the more important it becomes.
The more I listen, the more I learn.
