I can’t draw

[I] CAN’T DRAW, but once upon a time I had a mild motivation to try to develop some kind of artistic ability.

I think it stemmed from Mama, who can sit in a church service and draw near-perfect portraits of the back of people’s heads on a bulletin.

I got to where I could copy something and draw a decent picture from it, but my artistic abilities fizzled from there.

Some of my friends were what I’d call artists, though, and it’s always crazy to see the talent on display every year at the National Peanut Festival’s art show.

Instagram has also opened the door for people who draw to share their creations with a wider audience, of which I am a part, and sometimes I’ve been amazed at what I’ve seen from artists on the platform.

I don’t have the talent or the skill to draw well.

I’m thankful for those who do, and those who choose to share their abilities with the world.

This post is a response to Sue’s prompt, which is, “draw.”

  1. Casey: I am with you. I gave up on drawing long ago. I do appreciate those who the ability and enjoy the results. My talents lie elsewhere. So I will hang out in those areas. Good post.
