A note on change

Change is a fact of life.

There has been a lot of recent change, from the outbreak of coronavirus a few months ago to Mississippi’s vote to revamp its state flag last Sunday.

I have changed my stance on a few things which have recently made headlines, too.

I’m still unsure whether I’ll share those thoughts here.

Honestly, I’m still trying to wade through them and figure out whether I can articulate them in a sensible way.

It’s an understatement to say we’ve seen a lot of change in 2020, and we’re only halfway through it.

Some of those changes may last, like Mississippi’s yet-to-be-determined flag design.

Others may fade.

I believe real change, and real steps toward real unity, will come when we learn to treat people like we want them to treat us.

Real change will come when we learn to love others like we love ourselves.

This post is a response to Sue’s prompt, which is “change.”

  1. Casey: Well said! Jesus said it very straight forward, “Do unto others as you would have them do to you.” It is not out dated and never will be. Good post.
