There has been a lot of sports talk on this blog lately so I thought it might be time for a short post complete with some of my not-sports-related random thoughts.
I paid off my truck in March.
A week after I finished making payments, I was driving home after I covered a baseball game.
It was late. It was dark.
I swerved, but there was nothing I could do.
I hit a large, black animal, which unfortunately ran right under my truck at the wrong time.
Luckily, the animal didn’t suffer, but my truck sure did.
The bumper was dented and some of the paint was missing.
One of my running lights was completely gone. I found it, intact by minor miracle, in the road.
The bottom bumper piece was cracked and hanging.
It was not good.
It was even worse when I got the estimate. It was about $1,200 worth of damage, though I owed only the deductible.
I say all of that to say this.
I finally got it fixed today.
The body shop did an amazing job. It went in Monday morning and came out today, looking good as new and complete with a detail.
I know this means nothing to anybody but me, but I’d just like to say thank you to everybody at the body shop for the excellent work they did on my truck.
I saw “Guardians of the Galaxy” Sunday night.
I’ll admit I didn’t know what to expect when I went into the movie theatre because I didn’t know much about the story other than it included a talking raccoon.
I was pleasantly surprised.
It was a good movie with some action, a good story and several instances of laugh-out-loud humor.
It’s worth seeing, and I am waiting on a sequel.
I’m pretty sure Marvel and Disney will oblige.
I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you Weight Watchers works.
I know it works because I lost 20 pounds or so on it once.
Now, with the disclaimer out of the way, I’d also like to take an opportunity to tell you I hate Weight Watchers.
I don’t hate it because it’s a diet. It’s not. With Weight Watchers, best results are achieved if you treat the program like a lifestyle change.
OK. I’m done towing the company line now.
I hate Weight Watchers because I’m not currently participating in it and some members of my family are.
This has drastically upset my eating habits, and this counting points is bringing up bad memories of math class.
